# What is 10% more of 13?

I work at a grocery store and we are going to start getting paid 10% more because we are working during the coronavirus crisis. Since my usual pay is 13 and hour how much will I be getting paid now?

10% of 13 is 1.3 so 10% more of 13 is 13 + 1.3 = 14.3.

multiply existing pay by 1.1 the first 1 copies your present pay and the second 1 (after the decimal point) adds in 10%, because as a decimal 10%=0.1=0.10.

So, the answer is 13 x 1.1 = 14.3, i.e. $14.30 per hour.

im guessing you are NOT a math major

13 * 10/100 = 13 * 0.1 = 1.3

10% is the same as 1/10.

So you are getting an additional $1.30 per hour (a total of $14.30/hr).

If it's 10% more, then multiply it by 1.1:

13 * 1.1 = $14.30
