What happens if you are fired while working from home due the to covid19 virus and they state it is for misconduct from months ago?

    Contact an attorney.    And, the Labor Board in your state.

    If the event is MONTHS old - you could contact a lawyer.  You may have a good case to sue them for wrongful dismissal.

    You can also fight to get your unemployment.  They will try to claim you was let go for "just cause" and that you don't qualify for unemployment but if you have documentation proving the incident is from too long ago, you would get your unemployment pay.

    If that happens you're fired, and probably not eligible for unemployment.

      Thats probably why they were fired instead of laid off...
