    Depends on the species. Bananas and nuts are gourmet items for monkeys and apes. Some of them eat mostly leaves. Many are fruit eaters and will depend on the fruits that may be locally available. Some subsist on a diet of grasses. Most of them are omnivores, meaning they will eat meat when it is available. The capuchin monkey will eat snakes. Most will eat insects when available. When they groom each other, they will eat the insects they will find on the furs of their friends.

    Fruit and anything they can lay their grubby mitts on. Chimpanzees in the wild often eat rivals when they defeat them in gang wars.
