will the corana virus outbreak and the resulting economic crash end the u.s. manned space program?
will the government slash all funding for space research and cancel plans to return to the moon and visit mars?

I can certainly seeing operations slowing or suspending.... but, not ending.

Hopefully it wil drive effort away from the antiquated practice of manned spaceflight, towards building robotic spacecraft to explore the solar system in an efficient and effective manner.

Not yet. NASA is recruiting for the next class of astronauts right NOW. I was trying to copy the link to a specific NASA page in the last 24 hours and that recruitment page kept popping up.
NASA is already funded for the rest of this year. What happens for the states who have not had their primary elections yet, whether there will be usual nominating conventions for the political parties, the November elections and what happens on January 3, 2021 when the next session of Congress starts AND the Supreme Court may have yo decide WHO the next president will be, NO ONE KNOWS.
WHY do known facts upset so many people who are in denial who are determined to try silence any one who points out the facts?

So you KNOW there will be an economic crash, do you?

OK, look at it this way.
The space program (as many other programs) provides employment to people who would otherwise NOT have a job.
So when this mess will be over, the stimulus program will have to target everything. Including NASA, SpaceX, Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic and what not.

US? I doubt it as the program provides jobs. But who knows what Trump will do.
