What does this mean?

I was watching this movie and this woman said “He’s got you on a pedestal and me in his arms.” to another woman. What does that mean?

It means  she is with the man physically,   now,   but he's still in LOVE with the other woman. ....the one on the pedestal.

    as is often the case........

"Putting someone on a pedestal" means that you're making an idealized abstraction of them, like a classical statue.  These statues, which stood on pedestals, were anatomically perfect but ultimately lifeless.  They could be venerated for their beauty, but weren't actual people.  What the speaker is saying here is that the other woman is a romaniticized idea to the guy in question but that she, the speaker, is the woman he's actually with, the one who is "in his arms"

He's sleeping with the one in his arms (physical) but adoring the other from a distance (like a crush).
