Why does washing your hands too much dry your hands out?

Your skin contains and releases natural oils to protect itself.

When you wash, you remove those.

If you wash too much you remove the oils faster than they can be replaced and the surface of your skin dries out and starts cracking.

    The soap irritates the skin.
