Is an adverb counted as a verb?

    No, they are their own thing. In terms of function they are more like adjectives. As a general rule, an adjective qualifies a noun, and an adverb qualifies anything else (including verbs and adjectives).  They tell you more about things - adverbs of time, adverbs of degree etc, they are not action words in the same way as verbs, but tell you more about how actions are performed.

    No. Adverbs describe verbs. I walk quickly. Walk is the verb. Quickly is the adverb.
