    No, which is why they’re often disappointed in cases where they’d hope their children would either work for, or take over a family business. Choosing a career should be strictly up to the individual as it’s a lifelong responsibility they should be engaged with.

    Everyone should be free to choose their own career.

    Having one forced on you can produce serious depression or other mental problems.

    no. they should support the child in whatever career the child chooses. the parents may encourage certain careers but they shouldn't choose it for them
