Which school is better for the Business Administration major? Pepperdine University or UC Riverside ?
Which school has a better reputation on resumes when he applies for jobs later after he graduates? He has to pick 1 or the other now if he does not want to go to Cal State Long Beach.

Actually, business is one of the things that Pepperdine is known for. However, UCR's program is well-regarded, and the UC schools in general are well-regarded. It will also be far cheaper, which needs to be a consideration (especially for a business degree, which will not likely lead to a high-paying job, at least right away).

I would go for UCR due to name recognition, academics and it's also cheaper. Pepperdine is only regionally known in Southern California, so if he plans on working in the Bay Area, UCR is seen as more impressive. A resume with the name "University of California" will help him get the first job interview. Pepperdine is a private school and relies on a wealthy alumni to sustain their relevance. UCR graduates do not need to have family connections, they can compete in an open market based on skills and experience.
