    I suppose it depends on the song, but personally not a fan of bagpipes.

    Yes. One was used by Eric Burdon and the Animals in their hit song "Sky Pilot".

    Depends. Kate Bush added bag pipes to her song Hello Earth (Hounds of Love album) and the song sounded great.
