Why are most democratic governors more hell bent on keep their states closed that the republican ones?

Also do you think the people suing Illinois Governor Pritzker over the extension stand a chance?

There is a killer virus out there, which probably won't pay much regard to people's financial situation. In the US hospital care will bankrupt the vast majority of families. The virus is very easy to catch. The more important question is: Why don't conservatives get this?

Your question is based on a false assumption.  Even in states with Democrat governors that went to Trump in 2016, like Michigan, their actions are being met with a whopping 80% approval, meaning most Republicans are on board with them too, despite what the very few but very loud protesters would have you believe.  Democrat governors are acting with bipartisan support, much to the chagrin of a small minority of highly factionalized alt-righters and the alt-right disinformation and propaganda machine.  As for the lawsuit in Illinois, it will fail just like the one in Michigan did.

Power-mad authoritarians. These are the same ones that will be begging for financial relief for the government....not the people who they've bankrupted.

The facts do not support your hypothesis.

Yes, the the people suing the IL governor stand a chance, but I don't know if they will win. But that is the process.

You make it sound like you think democratic Governors are trying to punish people and the Republican ones are saviors or something.

Blue states tend to be more densely populated. That leads to easier transmission of disease. In addition, my state's governor holds an MD, so he knows a wee bit more about disease transmission than the others.

I would say that the size of the outbreaks in the cities has a lot to do with the different reactions going on. But the governors of those states are making the rules based on the worse areas as opposed to adapting the rules, to the different threat levels in the different areas. So it looks more like a play for control then actually defending against the virus.
