Is it true we will all make it to heaven if we just believe in god? Regardless of the sin?
- SmartassawhipLv 72 months ago
No!!! That is not what Jesus says.
- PubliusLv 72 months ago
No, that is a cruel lie and a heresy. Jesus definitely says that he shall reward us according to our works, not our beliefs.

The Bible states that, "Without holiness, no-one will see the Lord". That means nobody would make it into God's holy Heaven, for we are all unholy. We are all sinners. Heaven was only opened up for repentant sinners through what Jesus did to get our sin dealt with. Those who put their faith in Him as "the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world" have their unholiness dealt with by the Holy Spirit. Only those who have been convicted of their sin by Him, repent and trust in Jesus will find themselves ushered into Heaven - but not due to anything they did, for nobody can deserve, or merit Heaven.
Once that miracle of grace transforms your thinking and desires, you seek to live to please God, not self. Sadly, many peoples' minds have been mucked up by the spirit of the age, the ungodly, carnal powers manipulating young people so that they have nothing but warped ideas about God. Until you get down on your knees in prayer to God, asking for the help of Christ and the Holy Spirit to deal with your sinful self, you will remain utterly confused. Please find a Bible and start reading one of the gospel accounts about Jesus, to learn more about Him.

The Bible does not teach that all good people go to heaven.
Ps 37:29 states - "The righteous will possess the earth,
And they will live forever on it".
Only a limited number will go to heaven, the rest of obedient mankind will have the opportunity to live on a restored paradise earth.

Not believing there is a God, because that is not specific enough. It has to be believing in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. That is the way to be saved, and it is enough. Believing in the Lord Jesus Christ means being forgiven all sins past and future, and means going to heaven. Here is the truth: Death leads to immediate heaven or hell. The only way to have eternal life, the only way to be in heaven and avoid hell, is by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life (John 6:47). It is that simple and that easy. It is too late to be saved after death. Jesus is God and Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood to pay for all of our sins in full, and then Jesus resurrected from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Nothing else pays for our sins, not works from us or anything else, and Jesus already paid for our sins with His death and blood. You cannot add any works to getting into heaven (Romans 4:5).

Thats a doctrine of demons called easy believism. The NT Greek word for believe means to totally devote oneself to Christ and Christian living, otherwise you can forget about salvation. The only remission for sins is repentance.
2 Corinthians 7:10-11 — For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin >>>and results in salvation. <<< There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death. Just see what this godly sorrow produced in you! Such earnestness, such concern to clear yourselves, such indignation, such alarm, such longing to see me, such zeal, and such a readiness to punish wrong. You showed that you have done everything necessary to make things right.
Luke 13:3 KJV — I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Christian means Christlike.

If you believe in God you will repent of your sins

Yes, if by "believe in God" you mean allowing Him to guide our life, and doing our best to live as He calls us to live. If you just mean believing that God exists, no, that won't do it.

That's not biblical, no, but if you want to believe it, it's fine by me.Source(s): Jesus follower
