does the same pitcher start in a three-game series each night if he's doing well or does he need to rest?

No, they would blow their arms out lol Zack Greinke had a streak in like 2012 or 2013 where he started 3 straight games for the brewers because in one he was ejected and started the next day and also started the game after the all star break, which he was ejected too

No, the starter needs rest. In a three game series it would typically be a different starter in each game.

Assuming most teams use a five man rotation, the starter pitches on four days rest.

I've been watching / playing baseball for over 30 years Linda, and never seen that happen.

There's lots of wear and tear on an arm hence why there's a rotation of pitchers on a team.

No starting pitcher ever starts consecutive games, not even in do-or-die playoff games, where they might see a relief appearance after starting the previous game.

Pitchers typically get 4 days off after a start before they pitch again.

No matter the league or the level of age, there has to be four days rest between starts.

No, he's got to rest and recover after each time he pitches.

Sometimes in a vital game--say the last game of a championship in a tie--they're put in a pitcher before his rest days are complete, if he insists he can do it, but there's a real risk of two things. One, he won't be as good as he usually is, and two, injury.

A pitcher generally starts one out of every five games.  That's why it's called the five-man rotation.
