Is it police procedure to put a knee on a person neck neck or back to pin them down and press them against the pavements?

Most deaths are happening lately from fat cops pinning down suspects on the ground with their knees on their back, neck or chest till they can’t breath and suffocate to death, should that practice be outlawed?

A cop on Fox News explained this fairly well.  They are allowed but discouraged to use certain techniques like this to subdue a dangerous suspect, but only for a very short period of time.   The cop noted the suspect was handcuffed and had long given up whatever fight he might have had, so the prolonged knee to the neck was completely unjustified since it went on for several minutes until the suspect died.

I was reading that in that particular Police Dept cops are allowed to do that as long as they don’t press directly on the wind pipe. Like how the hell are they supposed to Be that accurate with their knee? It’s absurd. In other words, these police departments are saying yeah if you kill somebody by suffocating them will give you a way out legally. That’s exactly what it is. It’s all about protecting themselves legally. I hate fu cking cops. Any research they’re doing into artificial intelligence should be directed towards developing a RoboCop. Like in the movie. To take the human element out of it. Because human beings are too fuc king unstable and dangerous to be carrying out that kind of work obviously

No, don't be stupid.  Police take orders from racist mayors and racist city counsel.  These are the pricks that set policy that police are to follow.  Only a block head would believe that the cops give order to the mayor and force him to back away and let a police station be over run and burned.

It doesn't matter, what kind of practice the police use, the reality is that when a police see the suspect can't breathe or is about to pass out, to keep hurting the person is an intention to murder.

Now black Americans, protests, and say black lives matter" It's correct, unfortunately some people don't care about it. The victim family cry, and the city pay them a few millions, and business as usual.

Untill, the laws that allow police officer, to kill and walk around free, are review or changed, incidents like what happened last Monday, will continue.

The community and theirs politicians have to challenge those laws or create new one.

Only when a police officer is send to jail for 30 or 40 years for stragle an unarmed person, only then this kind of insident will stop.

Also, the mayor need to fire the chief of police, for not placing the offices under arrested.

It about time for politicians, to talk less and do more.

Most cops are still living in the old days before everyone had a video recorder on their phones.  In the old days when the cops murdered someone they would simply lie their way out it.

The dude was face down on the ground, cuffed, and outnumbered by the cops.  The cops had won.  It was game over -- all they had to do was toss him in the back of the squad car.

Instead, they killed the guy.  Hopefully, they rot in prison.

There's a better way of dealing with this.  First they should outlaw cops gorging on donuts.

Yes. It is a standard move to keep violent criminals from doing harm to the officer, and others......This situation can be easily avoided by cooperating during police contact.

    Troll fail.

    Edit:

As a retired police supervisor with 20 years as a member of a big city police department I would bet the reason there are no criminal charges is the autopsy showed Floyd died of a heart attack or whatever related to his pre-existing medical problems and NOT from having the officer kneel on him. If yes then what the officer did - in addition to being stupid - was probably only a violation of the Minneapolis PD's rules & regulations and NOT a crime. He will stay fired and there will be successful civil suits, but no prosecution.

The only caveat is both the Governor of MN and the Mayor of Minneapolis are Democrats. That means they do not care about the law, the constitution, or justice and they may have the officer arrested anyway in order to placate the activists who are encouraging their followers to riot, loot, and burn.

Finally, arresting the officer(s) has not in other similar incidents stopped the rioting, looting, or burning.

wow you admit that were a Supervisor and you wouldn't even arrest one of your own officers if they committed such a callous crime. You know this was man slaughter or criminal negligence at the very least.
