How can faith affect (or not affect) human emotions like sorrow, grieving, pain caused by certain events or places?

Rev. 21:4, "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Faith serves to mitigate the effect of such things, because true faith gives meaning to the otherwise, meaningless.

Faith can help you go through these things. But, those things can also shake your faith to it's foundations.
