Best is a antihistamine recommended by a doctor.

Having a husband with asthma caused by cats, I would say take the kitten back and hope to find a non-allergenic dog. Cats can live between 16 and 20 years. They bond to you. It would be unfortunate for both you and the cat to bond with one another, only to realize your allergies are getting worse.

After having dogs for 50years with no problems,

Our first cat gave me allergies in 24 hours.

She is a rescue cat and no way could I take her back.

One antihistamine tablet a day will help.

You will be able to tolerate her in time.
