Will a phone turn on after a long time?

So I brought a cheep smartphone about 50 dollars. It's only for music and I have another one I'm using now. I have turned it on and put my music on it. If I turn it of and put it in the box and leave it for 20 or 30 years will it still work as normal?

The phone hardware would probably be fine, but the battery would likely burst or leak at some point during the 30 years destroying the phone unless you removed it.

The electronics would probably work to some extent,

depending on how the electrolytic capacitors aged,

but the battery would be useless because it wouldn't have been kept charged.

Even if you tried to keep the battery charged over all that time,

it would not last long enough. They all fail no matter what you do.

In general, electronic things tend to fare better if they are gently used

than if they are left completely unused.

Today's miraculous technology is not likely to hold up

as well as older, less complex equipment does.
