    I'd say so. Most people live paycheck to paycheck and the average person I know that age can barely afford anything

    Yes that is excellent, but then again if you owe 40K in school loans that you have not paid on, and 40K on a car loan, then you are not doing so well.

    I am 54, have 40K in savings, and 220K in investments, and no debt.

    idk. What other assets and liabilities do you have? [credit card debt, child support payments, a bad job?) What do you NOT have that you might want? (house, spouse, kids, mini-van, college education, etc)

    It's better than 0 but not as good as $100,000, so, declaring it "good" is relative.

    Yes.  That's pretty good.  It will make a good down payment on a small house.  Another $20,000 and you will be going great.
