Is it possible to connect my lastop to my TV to watch films in a bigger screen?

    Yes get an HDMI cord to connect the two. It is the same cord as the one that would plug a Roku box into the TV.

    Depends how old your laptop is. Most modern laptops will have an HDMI output port, so all you need is a cable to link that to the TV.

    Some laptops have DISPLAYPORT outputs (DELL did this because they didn't want to pay the licence fee to use HDMI) , in which case you can get an adapter to go to HDMI.

    I use HDMI but I had to use the adapter for an older DELL laptop.

    When I watch Netflix, I disable wifi on the laptop and use the RJ45 ethernet port to connect to my router, using Powerlink adapters.
