Is it possible to connect my lastop to my TV to watch films in a bigger screen?

Yes get an HDMI cord to connect the two. It is the same cord as the one that would plug a Roku box into the TV.

Yep. But it's kind of hard to tell you how to do it without more information.

Depends how old your laptop is. Most modern laptops will have an HDMI output port, so all you need is a cable to link that to the TV.
Some laptops have DISPLAYPORT outputs (DELL did this because they didn't want to pay the licence fee to use HDMI) , in which case you can get an adapter to go to HDMI.
I use HDMI but I had to use the adapter for an older DELL laptop.
When I watch Netflix, I disable wifi on the laptop and use the RJ45 ethernet port to connect to my router, using Powerlink adapters.
