Would people be disappointed if extra terrestrial aliens are human?
People have wondered for the longest time about what aliens could be like. How do you think the public would react if aliens contacted Earth & made their existence known in a grand, undeniable way? Just for us all to discover the aliens are human beings from another part of the universe. Biologically the same as humans here on Earth, but exceed us intelligence and technological capabilities.
Would people be upset by it? Would that kill the mythos of the "little green men" from another world?

Human-OID is the term. Human-like. And there is a school that supposes that in order to reach higher on the evolutionary chain there are likely commonalities that must be met - opposable thumb, binocular vision, walking upright with workable upper limbs including hands (and the opposable thumb). Of course we won't know until we meet an alien.

Lol. Many people would be, and in fact are, disappointed that space aliens do not exist at all. In fact all the evidence we have is that they do not exist. At least not within detection range. The universe looks exactly as it would look if space aliens did not exist at all.
Not to be deterred, there is plenty of fiction and fantasy on the subject of space aliens. Even people who you think would know better cast aside skepticism and embrace the belief in space boogiemen wholeheartedly. This is a fascinating subject for psychologists.
