Why do we say "may God be with you"? ?
As believes, if we believe that God is always with us, helping us and no matter what will love us Then why do we wish something that already exists? Or it has another meaning?
Those who never used it and don't have an answer for my question don't answer please
I don't care if you used it or not

"God be with you", which morphed into "goodbye", is an expression of concern and a prayer.
Source(s): Greek Orthodox Christian - EddieJLv 77 months ago
Clergymen started saying it to each other and, at some point, others picked it up.
It is derived from 2 Chronicles 15:2.
And when people say "goodbye", they are using an abbreviation of the phrase, usually without intending it literally.

Don't think I've ever used that phrase.
Even when I was a Christian I don't think I used it.

Why do you assume I say that? Literally nobody I know says it.

To reinforce or make your blessings stronger.
🥴 Prayer works but SEVERAL prayers work even better in giving you good luck.
