India isn't the original name of that country.

Indian is derived from indigenous. It falls with in naming conventions consistent with the Roman Latin language.

Columbus was correct, you’re the poorly educated idiot.

Columbus thought he had landed in India, so he called the natives Indians. The term American Indian came within the past few generations to correct his mistake.

Perhaps you should start with the first Americans, who call themselves Indians - - except for the ones who are Inuits or Aleuts.

Then start calling us Americans instead of 'Mericans.

Columbus was a confused guy. He assumed the indigenous people as "dot-headed South Asians".

Columbus thought he was in India, so he called them Indians.  About 50 years ago the transition to Native American was introduced.  Until then all the text books, the movies, the law called them Indians.  It takes several generations to change the language.

Talk to the Department of the Interior, they have the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
