liberals realise that immigration suppresses wages right?

if immigration was dramatically reduced then employers would have less people to chose from as a pool of employees. wages are determined by supply and demand.

I suggest immigration rates be cut by 90% so that wages will rise dramatically.

what do you guys think?

There was a time when liberals cared about poor Americans and liveable wages. Unfortunately they've abandoned it and now support illegal immigration. Biden is even promising free healthcare for illegals. He doesn't support Medicare for All but supports free healthcare for illegals. GO FIGURE !!

If immigration was dramatically reduced, and employers had even fewer people to chose from as a pool of employees in the U.S. than they do now. then employers would close down or move to other countries that still had enough people people to chose from as a pool of employees.

Wages are determined by supply and demand, and there would no demand for workers in the U.S., because employers wouldn't be able to stay here.  Reducing immigration rates would reduce the supply by only, well, whatever percentage of workers are immigrants, but it would reduce the demand close to 100%.  Wages would drop dramatically, for the few workers that still had jobs, which many wouldn't.

Without jobs, there would be no wages.  And many jobs wouldn't be in the U.S. without immigration.

Immigration increases wages by attracting employers and increasing demand for workers in the U.S.

Only in the cases where the companies can’t find qualified Americans for the jobs they have available.
