When did Americans stop using common sense?
This virus is not the flu. It seems that in the 1990s Americans got arrogant. We weren't acting like this in the 1950s or 1960s. Where did it go wrong.

The cold war never ended. Russia and Putin have been finding many ways to try to undermine the USA and weaken them even before the internet. But now with the internet it's made it super easy. He can pay millions of people 28 cents an hour in third world troll farms to spread nonsense on the internet.

The Big Lie came into our schools and universities called "Evolution." Remember the "Monkey to Man" chart lie. This group of "know-it-alls" started dumbing down our children and diminishing the role of a father in the family. It has gotten so bad that the God of our forefathers is now cursed in American movies and we are killing our unborn children by the millions. This is the aftermath of a generation that rejected the God of their fathers. We have a guidebook for life called the Holy Bible that tells us "God will not be mocked." By mocking God we are increasing sin and bringing killing, stealing and destroying upon us.

We have a different idea of what government is supposed to do today than we did in the 1950s.
Back in the 70s, we had a particularly virulent strain of flu that swept through. Epidemologists saw it coming and President Ford made it an emergency top priority to develop a vaccine in time. It turned out to be not nearly as bad as we expected. In fact, something like 1 in 50,000 people will die from the vaccine itself, and in this epidemic it happened that more people died from the vaccine than the flu.
In the last few years we've had SARS, MERS, Ebola, etc. These were all diseases with the potential to kill hundreds of thousands of Americans, and we jumped on them heavily and prevented most deaths.
But President Trump decided this was not the proper role of the federal govt. He bet that if we just ignored COVID 19, it would go away by itself. He lost that bet.
I think we've learned our lesson. The next president will put us back on track.
