Why do forms ask for race?

So they can enforce the privilege blacks were born into.

Um.... I once filled out a Government form for free money and White wasn't an option.

    So I selected Indian.

Well...when i apply for jobs at work being a visible minority can give me an edge over an equally qualified white person.  Same reason native people have an edge over everyone else who are equally qualified.  Also, many people aren’t colourblind.  Like i’m filipino, they’re not going to hire me in a Korean Deli, that’s just how it is.  Not like i’m unqualified, i’m just not Korean.

depends on what forms, but some health issues are can be race related, also some gov't regs require it,

Do you have a men's health question?

Not sure exactly.  My guess is employers want to be fair (or appear to be) in their hiring practices by showing they're not limiting their choices to just one group of people.
