The project that/which we prepared won the first prize. Which relative pronoun is correct in dis sentence ?

    Both are acceptable.  "Which" tends to imply selecting one from a choice - which movie would you like to see?  "That" has no such implication.

    In other languages the equivalent of "which" may be usual, but in English you use "that"

    Either could work, although these days that is probably more popular as contemporary writing deemphasizes the use of which. Of course, any potential problem could be eliminated by this alternative: Our project won the first prize.
