God created the entire universe at once, complete with all the matter, energy, time and space necessary for stars, planets, and solar systems to gradually form

Um, those "days" of creation should have been translated as indefinite "times."  Creation obviously took billions of years.  It took the universe over 13 billion years to reach its present state, and of course the Earth is over 4 1/2 billion years old.

He might be terraforming a new world right now for another generation of his children -- human spirits like us.

Whatever the timeframe, it was and perhaps still is being created by God alone

Everything was created in 6 days - the sun, moon, stars, (stars include other planets of course) - absolutely everything was created in 6 days.  God is powerful.  He merely spoke them into existence - that's how powerful our God and Creator is.

    Read the firsthand account

Genesis 1:1-10 KJV — In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:14-18 KJV — And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

The heavens and the Earth were already in existence when God began the six days of bringing light out of darkness, order out of chaos, and life out of inanimate matter. There is no way of measuring the time element involved in the initial creation of the universe from what little the Bible says about it.  As for the six days mentioned in Genesis, it also uses the term 'day' to mean all six days together, and for a 1,000 year period wherein Adam eventually died, physically.

The enigmatic, sparse account of creation in Genesis is not meant to be taken as some measuring device for material creation. It states that, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth" and unless that is the starting point for reading the rest, none of it will make sense.  It then shows how darkness covered this planet and how the Spirit of God began moving over it, and the water. That is the starting point for the six days.

idiot -- the quote is 6 days to create heaven and earth

Now to make you look even dumber, when he created heaven and earth there were no time measuring devices so the 6 days could be six million eons of time a concept that the people of the day and even now are not educated enough to really understand
