How can I find out what debts I owe?

So I took out a payday loan a while back and i cant remember where or what company I took it from. Is there a way i can look this up? How can I find out what all is owed to my name in general?

In the US, you can get a free copy of your credit report from each of the 3 major reporting agencies once a year through www.annualcreditreport.com.

That is probably a good place to start.

Once you get a bill from them, you will know.

PS:  How dumb can one be to fail to maintain information on debts?

    You can't.

You can find out what debts that you owe have already been reported to credit bureaus by looking at your credit reports.  You can get them at annualcreditreport.com for free or elsewhere by paying.

However, these will not be "all" that is owed in general.  Anything that has not been reported to credit bureaus will not be included.

If you are in the U.K. sign up to Credit Karma for free. It will list your credit rating.

    Not on your bank statements?
