He could be charhed with perjury.

Archer also induced the production of a false instrument, his secretary forged a diary, something that she should have been prosecuted and jailed for of course, but wasn't.  His friend also avoided jail simply by grassing up Archer in a co-conspiracy, but it was plainly obvious that that action had no bearing on his guilt or otherwise at the time of the illegal actions.

He could be charged with perjury just like Jonathan Aitken and various others including Lord Archer.

"Bearing in mind Brits salivate over Depp." Where did you get that bizarre idea?

The evidence in the case seems to be very much "he said, she said".

Maybe, but Jeffrey Archer went to great lengths to make his lies stick.  I liked his books but never read another after his conviction.
