Why do auto companies make non off road cars and cars that aren't all wheel drive?

An off road car can do everything a normal car can and go off road as a bonus why make anything else? And why make cars that aren't all wheel drive which is good for hard conditions such as snow?

Because the last thing the owner of a $50,000 off road vehicle is going to do is go off road.

Because there are smooth, paved roads nearly everywhere.

    Off-road cars cost more.

    All-wheel drive costs more.

Only a small percentage of the driving population goes off road.

Southern states don't need all-wheel drive like northern cars.

Having it as an option favors car sales.

Because not everyone wants an off-road vehicle. Not everyone needs an off-road vehicle. And off-road vehicles are more expensive to make, more expensive to buy, more expensive to drive, and more expensive to maintain.

There is something called COST OF PRODUCT doofus.  And do you really need to buy an all wheel drive vehicle to go to work in San Diego???

Become a businessman and maybe you will understand.  But of course you are just TROLLING.
