Before World War Two Europe had mostly had Christian Monarchies which were a fairly efficient filtering system. Switzerland was a Republic but still White Christian and conservative. San Marino is a republic but tiny. The Vatican, although it has no hereditary Royal Family, is a virtual Christian Monarchy. Although we are looking here at the situations before World War Two, it had only been about 20 years since the major royalty like the Russian Tsar and the German and Austrian Kaisers were deposed and White Christian men still had the momentum of self esteem and self respect and a lingering sense of class and standards. The "Gangs" you refer to were actually called other things, such as the Ottoman Turks who occupied Greece and sometimes Romania, kidnapping young males to be used as catamites or janissaries. Sometimes the Turks would invade Austria and pile up Christian heads and threaten the very gates of Vienna. In the west, you had your Muslim Pirates who kidnapped blondes from the English, Dutch and Frisian coasts to human traffic to haremes. The Barbary Pirates raided Sardinia and Corsica for White slaves. And the Moors invaded Spain occupying sections of it between 711 AD and 1492 AD. Moors tried to take France but Charles Martel defended that particular border of Christendom. Catherine the Great, Empress of Russia, was a German Princess born and advised other Christian Rulers not to enter into alliances with the Ottomans who would play Christians against each other. Her advice echoed Jesus Christ who said not to do business with anyone who rejected Christ, but to leave their house wiping even the dust off your feet. Justifying diplomatic relations with islamist countries and saying that it's "complicated" always costs more in the long run than a Simple Solution would cost in the short run. By being addicted to their oil and pretending they are equal, you have now got Europe infested with terrorists and White Christian women get raped by Arab men in Berlin and Stockholm. Politicians today are essentially prostitutes to the islamists and are selling out Europeans to the Jihad. Read Prince Michael Sturdza The Suicide of Europe.

    Pakistan didn't exist before WW2.

And the Turks (Muslims) have had a presence in the Balkans and around Greece since around the year 1000 (they were also in Spain and Portugal before they got kicked out).

BTW, Othello was a Moor -- originally a Muslim, and that's from Shakespeare

Firstly Pakistan did not exist until after WW2 when India got self rule after being a British controlled country and the fear that unless the Muslims and the Hindus of India were separated there would be a massive religious war in the country as Britain would no longer be there to keep the order.  It was decided that the Muslims should move to areas of India along the east and western sides of India which would become independent from India.  Today these areas are Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Before WW2 the Muslim countries were not powerful countries as some are today.  Many were controlled by European countries who controlled the Military in these countries.  The Muslim people were kept from being able to cause too much trouble as they were not well armed while their European rulers had modern well trained armies with  the latest weapons.

Most Muslims are peace loving people and not the terrorists many others think they are.  There have been groups who in the last 50 years flexed their terrorist muscle and generally run by power hungry people disguising the conflicts they cause as  religious wars to induce radicalized Muslims to fight for them.  Generally their victims are other Muslims who resist these groups.

Let's just say that some of the Holy Roman Emperors did what they could, along with a few popes up to the end of the 16th century.

Most of Europe did not really participate in driving the sultans and the Ottoman Turks out of Europe. Venice welcomed their trade. So did England's Queen Elizabeth I. Her father Henry VIII and his rival Francis I of France were in favor of the Muslims giving their mutual rival Emperor Charles a hard time.

Also, the Muslims weren't kept out of Europe.  They were embedded in the Iberian Peninsula until Ferdinand and Isabella defeated the last of their towns before granting Columbus some ships. They invaded and held most of eastern Europe including the Crimea from the 15th to the 20th centuries.  They still have Istanbul (former Constantinople).

Islamic influences prevaded Europe at least from the time of the First Crusade to "recover Jerusalem from the heathens."
