Is my Betta Fish okay?

My betta sometimes rests on his stomach on a leaf of the fake plant in his tank or on the gravel, he's done this his whole life and he doesn't seem weak. He got sick once but we used medicated fish water conditioner instead of regular fish water conditioner, and he got better. Is he just resting or is he sick?

Bettas all have different personalities and are not strong swimmers so having things for them to rest on is great.  As long as he seems well then it’s normal.

People seem to love bettas, despite the facts that they are not strong swimmers and would be take apart by fish like cichlids. But One betta, in a tank, that seems to be 'resting'? He is fine.

That is normal, they sell betta hammocks for this exact purpose.
