Could all the money wasted on lock downs and welfare have been spent looking for a vaccine and might this have saved more lives?

Duh, there is no vaccine yet. The lock down is intended to keep you alive until there is.

No, that wouldn't have sped up the development of a vaccine and far more lives would be lost if the medical system is overrun by the pandemic and beds are no longer available for patients who need them.

takes a long time for a safe vaccine to be found and  im sure id not want  to be a Guiney pig with the early vaccine  and if things were locked down sooner we would be like NZ  with no virus surviving ....

    nothing was done right !!

and there are  so many  people not obeying the rules  ,blame all them twits

Or we could all just snort Bex, then covid would have to fight its way through it.

Then people couldn't drink all day. And not pay their rent without being evicted.

Most of the money spent on developing a vaccine came from various pharmaceutical companies and not the US government. Several actually began working on a vaccine as soon as they had examples of the virus to work with. That was late January and early February.
