    log₆ 16

    = log₆ 2⁴

    = 4 log₆ 2

    log(6, 16)

    = Log[16]/Log[6]

    = 1.54741122...

    16 = 2⁴

    so, log₆16 => log₆(2⁴) = 4log₆2

    Notation: Put log(base 6) = L.

    (C) states L16 = aL2 where a is unknown.;

    But 16 = 2^4 so L16 = 4L2 = aL2. Obviously, a = 4.

    16 = 2^4, so, it follows that

    log (to any base) of 16 is equal to 

    4*log (to same base) of 2

    The missing number was 4

  • a * log[b](c) = log[b](c^a)

    a * log[6](2) = log[6](16)

    log[6](2^a) = log[6](16)

    2^a = 16

    2^a = 2^4

    a = ?
