With all the Covid_19 mask mandates, is this where we’re headed with the vaccine?

-Not allowed to enter businesses or sports arenas/stadiums without proof of vaccination (ID card?)

-Not allowed to work without a vaccination. Any employee who fails to comply will be furloughed, given a deadline to get the vaccine to return to work. Miss the deadline and you’ll be fired! And you’ll be ineligible for unemployment due to your own decision not to get vaccinated.

-Police vaccination checkpoints (similar to seat belt checkpoints), you must provide proof of vaccination, if not, you get a ticket for the first offense, suspension of your license and jail time for the second offense

Developing and making available a vaccine for COVID is a good idea.  If researchers like Jonas Salk had not worked on a vaccine for polio, it still could be afflicting people in the U.S. today.  Masks are a good idea, too.  People should be wearing them in public; businesses have a right to require them.

If a sufficient take-up of vaccination is required to control the spread of the virus for the good of the American people in general and the vaccine has a high level of safety the only reason not to have it would be to be "difficult" based on a perverse ideology which is effectively anti-American people. Had Japan had the capability to bomb the American mainland, anti-maskers are the sort of people who would have claimed that blacking out their windows at night to avoid providing beacons for the bombers violated their liberty.

Sure, if the government wants to eliminate the last shred of its legitimacy.

By the way, the guy above me is an idiot for implying that a natural virus is in any way comparable to a war. :)

Nope.  Anybody who doesn't want the vaccine can just do a herman cain, no government or private sector intervention necessary
