Why would anyone send their kids back to school?
Why would any parent send their kid into this mess? Saying that it's healthy for them to socialize and be around other kids is stupid. All that's going to happen, they'll get exposed, exposed their parents, their parents (if they aren't on welfare and refuse to work) will expose their co-workers and so on. The only reason these stated want to reopen is money. They just want their federal funds, the kids be d..need.
Can't wait to see what y'all say in a month when you're kid is on a ventilator or yourself. You haven't known anyone with it...yet.
Our cases with the kiddos are going up up and up..all you naysayer's are going to be changing your minds soon.

That is a narrow minded view. Who says as long as school systems find a way to do it safely that it shouldn’t be done. We may be dealing with this for years...no one knows. We need to adapt to carrying on with life. We can’t become hermits...that can affect people mentally.

All the schools in my town in Texas completely re-opened last week. Parents were very happy and relieved for their kids to return to school full-time, because parents were fed up and were pulling their hair out because their kids had been running in and out of the house, all day, every day, ever since the schools were forced to close in March.
You're right - I haven't known ANYONE who has contracted corona virus, and no one I'm acquainted with knows anyone either - not since this whole corona virus "scare" began in February.
You don't even know what a ventilator is or when it's used. Very FEW corona virus patients who are hospitalize EVER need to be put on a vent. That patient MIGHT receive which is called a "breathing treatment" via an oxygen-type mask over his nose that he might use for about 30 minutes, 2 times a day - the same as he he would if he was hospitalized for a bad case of bronchitis. The mask delivers medicine to his lungs through his bronchial tubes.
A "vent" is an in-dwelling tube in the throat, and a patient who has to be on a vent is practically at death's door anyway. A vent is doing the breathing for that patient, forcing air in and out of his lungs. Very FEW corona virus patients ever need a vent, because they can breathe on their own.

DUH! Not everyone can afford private schools where tuition pays teachers, pays bills, pays for everything. Public schools depend heavily on government to support them because they don’t oay tuition to cover bills that still occur whether or not the school is open, they still need to pay teachers who are teaching online via webcam or whatever...putting thousands of teachers and tens upon thousands of parents out of work is a greater risk than opening schools. The government can’t support everyone forever

Maybe because they know this whole thing is blown out of proportion. It has like a 1 or 2% death rate and the vast majority of cases are mild.

Not everyone thinks the coronavirus is a death sentence.

Why does anyone need to justify their decisions to you anyway?
edited for update: Clearly you are totally uneducated on how COVID works in school age kids, and how many people actually end up on vents, or what the current treatment even is for it. So thanks for proving everyone in this answer thread right, it's so much easier when you do the work for all of us.
