Us Marines, or National Guard?

Can i join the National Gaurd then possibly work my way up the ladder? What does the National Guard do? Do they get deployed like marines or do they be based somewhere?

Judging by your spelling skills, you are perfect for the National Gaurd.

tRump sent National Guardsmen overseas, which should never be done. The Nat'l Guard are our defenders within our borders. Their bases are within each state.

The National Guard is one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer.  There are Army and Air Force components on the NG.  They can be called up by the governor for state duty, such as during disasters and riots and called up by the president for federal duty.  Guardsmen and Reservists usually only get deployed overseas about every 4 to 5 years.

Of course you can get promoted in the Guard.  They have a rank structure just like active duty.

NG is one weekend a month, 2 weeks of the year. You can be called up to help out in your state with disasters or some situations. Deployed overseas for NG is limited these days if at all. So you will need a job to live.

Marines are full time 24/365 you can be deployed to several locations or maybe just once. All depends on your MOS and where you are stationed.

National guard is the usual place to hide.

Marines will terrorize you, until you comply.

But, Marines make for good valour theft, (Sen. Blumenthal)
