What's the purpose of this question? Why does the composer's race matter? How about "Bess You Is My Woman Now from "Porgy and Bess"?

Marie Laveau was a black woman. and there were quite a few songs written about her. Dr. John's and Bobby Bare's are probably the most well known.

"Brown Sugar" is about a black woman, but it was partly written by a black woman.

Her name is Marsha Hunt, and she co-wrote Brown Sugar with Mick Jagger.
