I would love them as much as ever, and because of that love, do my best to guide them toward truth. I would always support my child, which means not abandoning them when they are suffering from ignorance.

As long as they are a child, yes!

The thing is when they came of age they disowned me and moved out. Well actually older then that. The son completed his degree in college before moving out all the way. I knew he was an atheist long before he moved out.

They don't ask for help and I don't offer.

My door is open to them, but the reverse is not true.

I wouldn't support his belief.  Jesus exists and is God and a person can know this with certainty by way of having true devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

I would still love and help her.  I couldn't congratulate her on her fantasy, but she would still be my daughter.

Real humans don't have atheist children

My child's religious beliefs or none are for them to decide. Just like I did.

    "Came out" !?

Since when atheists have to "come out"? And from which closet?

I know there are theocracies that ostracize atheists so they must hide in a closet... but those don't allow internet either.

In my (European) country,  babies are naturally born atheist.

Some of them later decide to choose a religion, and it's never a big deal.

That depends on what you mean by “support”.

    Love her?  Yes

Help her through the struggles of life?  Yes

Always look for an opportunity to point her towards God?  Yes

Support the current worldview choice of atheism?  No

🥴 I have a sister and brother who are somewhat wayward.

So.... I don't have a problem with it? But I would always slap their mouths if ever blasphemy came out of it.

To me, it's a jinx and shame on my family.
