Can my daughter's middle name be her mother's last name?

    My middle name is my mother's last name. I like it because it connects me to my mother's family as well as my father's.

    It certainly can be. I used to babysit a little girl. Her middle name was Kennedy, her mother’s maiden name. So long as it’s not something off the wall, I think it’s a nice idea.

    If you want it to, sure. My son's last name is a my great-grandmother's maiden name. My daughter's middle name is her daughter's (my great-aunt's) first name, so both my kids have middle names from my side of the family.
