how is the prime minister chosen in parliamentary ?

    The Prime Minister is the leader of his or her party.  Normally they're voted into that position by the other politicians in their own party at that level of government.  There is another alternative where party members vote for the leader, but this tends to be smaller parties and they don't generally win enough votes to allow one of them to become Prime Minister.

    An election is held and the leader of the party with the most votes goes on to become Prime Minister.
