All my tools are DeWalt. They last forever and are better than all the others. I gave up on Ryobi and the cheap ones years ago because they stop working after a while.

Ryobi is a decent entry level, battery operated (cordless) tool. They are not commercial grade for sure, but hold up pretty good for the part-time weekend warriors.

On clearance, I bought a Ryobi multi-tool, drill, hammer drill, & impact driver about 10 years ago, when they were switching from the dark blue/yellow Ni-Cad to the bright green Li-Ion battery set-up, and they're still working just fine.

The newer stuff can be had as "brushless" motors, and can't speak for those, but the regular 'brush' type motors, is OK.

I’ve had this drill for about 12 years with no problems.  I also have a Honda lawnmower and Husqvarna weed whacker.  My chainsaw is a Poulan PR5020.  My angle grinder is DeWalt.
