Would a King (or Royal) ever beg for their life in medieval and Renaissance times? ?
We’re they expected to be dignified at all times?

I would have thought so, in the right circumstances.

I don’t believe that it ever happened. The two wives of Henry who stood trial, namely Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard, of course duly mounted a defence; but I suspect you may be probing for a display somewhat less dignified.

I am almost certain that at least some of Henry's wives begged for their lives at least in private.
