Does facial swelling cause lips to look smaller 1 month post jaw surgery?

Hey, i got double jaw surgery about 4 weeks ago where they pushed my upper jaw and pulled my lower jaw forward, my lips look way smaller and have a very weird shape unlike before the surgery...is it like that because the surrounding is swollen or that would be a perminant look?
