What is the architect's part in shaping the world? How they differ from civil engineers?

The architect draws a building to look pretty. The engineer calculates load and material strength, and tells him if it is going to stay up or not.

It could be said that the architect is the dreamer, the civil engineer helps make the dreams possible.

There's definitely some overlap, the architect needs to know some engineering, but one is more design and theoretical-oriented, and the other is more focused on figuring out how to make those designs structurally sound and possible.
