Should forcing a parent to make child support payments be banned in the USA to greatly reduce domestic violence?

    Child support payments are to spare the taxpayer the burden of raising your child (in the form of public benefits). Domestic violence is a totally different issues that has to do with impulse control and anger disorders. The two aren't connect in a normal mind.

    Doubt that would reduce DV all that much.  Child support somewhat implies the parents don't live together anymore.

    The best way to reduce domestic violence is to change the way the courts treat custody.  If fathers got full custody 50% of the time and mothers were required to provide child support when fathers got custody, both would be far more careful not to rush into breeding with someone they hardly know.

    People both men and women should be held accountable to support their children, if not the rest of us get to support them.
