Single Video file, becomes two on PC WHY?

A video file on my Camcorder (Panasonic HC V180) was shot as a single file (23 minutes long) on the camera, It shows and plays as a single on the camera itself, but the PC (Lenovo, running windows 10) shows it as two files. When edited together the video loses 2 or 3 frames and audio mutes a split second either side of the join/split.

Audio is not an issue as it was recorded also on a separate zoom H1 mic.

It splits at 10 seconds from the end but at a crucial point.

Is there a way to save it as a single file?

File is the standard AVCHD 1080p in MTS format (3.8 GBs).
