What grass is best for your yard?

I want green and durable grass. Able to withstand heat and walking on in the summer. I want vibrant soft green grass. I don't know anything about grass obviously so I seek experience here.

It depends on where you are. If you're in a Northern climate, I would recommend a grass seed blend containing mostly perennial ryegrass and kentucky bluegrass.

Consider a ground cover for your area that doesn't require maintenance or water when it gets hot. How about growing some veggies and making pathways? Another option is letting nature take over and making pathways.

The kind of grass you NEED is the one that grows under your climate/soil conditions, not necessarily the one you LIKE or WISH it to be.

IMO, St. Augustine grass is great, but it won't grow in northern climates.
