Do babies care if they keep you awake at night with their crying?

A baby's brain is developmentally incapable of understanding that he or she is a being separate from other beings. Children are around 2 before they start understanding that they are separate from other people and that their actions impact others, and more like 4-5 before they're really capable of modeling other people's experiences and perceptions and understanding that what another person is experiencing may not be the same as what they are experiencing. The skill of empathy improves with maturity. Or should, anyway.

A baby only understands that it needs something.
A baby does not have any form of empathy or understanding that other people have feelings.
The concept of understanding how one person's actions might make another person feel doesn't happen until sometime around the age of two to three years old.
