Be aware that sinkholes are common in many parts of Florida.

Best is subjective and I'm not sure what you are actually asking?

Are you asking......"Is Florida better than other states to own a vacation rental?"

Or are you asking something else?

If your question is regarding vacation rental ownership, then yes I would say certain parts of Florida are good choices for vacation rental landlords.  Florida is a vacation destination for people pretty much all year round (except the month of September because of hurricanes).  You also have snowbirds that winter over in Florida rentals.  Not all locations in Florida would apply though.  You would need to find a rental that is in or very close to one of the beach communities, like St. Pete, Indian Shores, Bradenton, Sarasota, Ft Meyers, Naples, Ft. Lauderdale, Palm Beach etc...  The further south you are the warmer the winter will be.  Although the winters in Jacksonville are much better than winters in Cleveland it's still not what most people would consider warm.
